Why Small Businesses Don't Survive
There are more than 30 million small businesses nationwide. Approximately 65 percent of small businesses are grass-root small businesses, and unfortunately don’t survive because they are not fully equipped or prepared to do business and compete in the marketplace efficiently. They have great intentions, a vision, and a big dream. Many start their business with true purpose-to help others through the use of their products or services. However, most often a new business owner believe they can run a business without a plan or strategy, not considering the unforeseen and possibilities which could influence the outcome of the business.

Get The Facts
It was his perception that caused the outburst. "Why aren't there any managers at these sessions? Why aren't they required to attend, too?" he challenged. Hired to provide workshops on building trust in a workplace lacking it, I answered his question to the extent I could during that first session, "It's my understanding that everyone is attending," I offered. "But let me find out for sure and get back to you."

The Strategic Use of Handouts At Seminars, Workshops and Other Venues, According To Your Strategic Thinking Business Coach
Being a presenter at seminars, workshops and other venues is an awesome opportunity to make strategic use of handouts. Every attendee at a seminar, workshop or other venue should depart with at least one document that describes your business services and/or products. These documents would include your handouts and business cards. Your handouts are one of your prime strategic marketing tools and it is imperative to make maximum use of them when you have the opportunity. You should never make a presentation without giving out at least one handout. These handouts should always be something the attendees want to keep. The more people keep your handouts, the better chance you have of converting them to clients and customers. Your strategic thinking business coach offers the following tips to maximize the use of your handouts.

Big Business or Small?
I’ve been happy as a poker player with pocket aces with my little workshop business, helping people, getting kudos and getting paid. I find people to invite to the workshop by going to networking groups where I’ll see old friends and make new ones. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner for a living. I hold my workshops in the den at my house

Focus on the WIIFT for a Powerful Presentation
A while back I had the opportunity to work for nearly two days with the best-of-the-best sales pros in a client company when I presented a workshop titled “Powerful Presentations.” A key idea in this workshop was that our sales presentations are more powerful when we focus on WIIFT – What’s in it for Them – from the open of the presentation through the close.

Sneaking Up On Commitment
Forever can be a long time. For many of us the idea of committing to something forever can be very intimidating and bring us a lot of fear in recognition of our past failures. This was certainly the case when my wife and I first met. One of my fondest early recollections of Ann was during a workshop on Prosperity Money when we first met. One of our assignments was to list 100 things we wanted to do, be or have. Ann was sharing with one of the participants in the hallway prior to our workshop. I overheard her say that on her list were two items: a committed relationship and a romantic relationship. As a way to enter into the conversation I asked her why those were 2 separate items. Wasn't it possible to have a committed and a romantic relationship as one?

Flying Without a Net
When I decided to sell my business management company and teach the Financial Stress Reductionâ Workshop full-time, it was really scary. I didn’t know if I would be able to sell enough workshops, on an on-going basis, to make a living. With the bookkeeping service, my clients paid me a fee every month. This created a regular income stream. With the workshop business, however, a customer paid once for the workshop and then was gone. I had to generate new customers every eight weeks. I didn’t know if I could do that. I was terrified.

There's More Than One Way to Make Money From Webinars
Even presenters who recognize the opportunity in paid webinars sometimes think the only way to make money from webinars is by selling individual tickets to attendees. The problem with this approach, as anybody who's run a public seminar will tell you, is it's difficult to get attendees ("bums on seats"). You need to do a lot of advertising, have access to a big mailing list, invest a lot of time following up people who register interest... or some combination of these three!

Charismatic Meetings
How many meetings have you attended in the last year? How many of those stand out in your mind? Why bother to hold a meeting if you are not prepared to ensure it has a lasting impact on the attendees. As the UK's Leading Expert in Charisma I decided to share my own blueprint for holding Charismatic meetings - that means meetings that captivate the hearts and minds of attendees!
