Sweating the Wrong Stuff
Whatever it is - if we choose to focus on something that is known, comfortable and in our control, even as other things are crying for our attention - well, we're sweating the wrong stuff. And that's a great big Gravity No No.

What To Do When You Just Can't Concentrate
My email in-box is jam packed, I have several calls from sales people that I haven't returned yet, my desk is a mess, and I'm finding it very hard to concentrate. What in the world is going on here!

Death By Phone
Choosing a mobile phone for all of its added features and capabilities is the wrong move. It's also wrong for firms in the industry to focus on added stuff rather than good, dependable service.

Resolving Needs - What Your Employees Wish For!
Sometimes in business, the big stuff gets the all the attention it needs - whilst the small stuff misses out. Yet it is the small stuff that your people live with day in, day out. For them, the biggest issues they face are not 'Mission Statements', 'Visions' or 'Corporate Values' - sorry, they just aren't interested. So what is important to them? Here's how you find out...

Authentic Capitalism
There is a lot right with business as well as a lot wrong. Lets focus on expanding the good stuff and learning from the rest.

9th of the 10 Kurlan Sales Competencies That are Key to Building a Sales Culture
All of the stuff they have been doing, including the order in which they have been doing it, is usually wrong when we begin working with them - and permanently so. It's harder to stop doing the permanent stuff than it is to learn a more effective way. Think of an elastic band. The information from the new lesson stretches the band a lot. Then the natural tendency to do what has become permanent snaps the band back into its original shape. Solution?

Successful People Treat Problems and Setbacks as Opportunities
Stuff happens: good stuff, bad stuff, frustrating stuff, and unexpected stuff. Most of it is out of your control. Successful people respond to the stuff that happens in a positive way. Humans are the only animals with free will. That means we -- you and me -- get to decide how we react to every situation that comes up. It's your choice. Successful people choose to respond to events proactively. They do what they can to make the best out of any situation in which they find themselves. Use them to become a better, more successful person.

Want Success? Take a Lesson From Lindsey Vonn
As you go through life, stuff will happen; good stuff, bad stuff, frustrating stuff, happy stuff, sad stuff, fortunate stuff, unfortunate stuff. Successful people choose to react to the stuff that happens -- especially the negative stuff -- in a positive way. Lindsey Vonn had some really bad stuff happen -- a deep bone bruise on her shin; and some lucky stuff -- the warm weather in Vancouver that delayed the women's downhill -- happen to her over the past couple of weeks. She did what she could with it. And what she did was pretty spectacular. The next time things get you down, think of Lindsey Vonn, do what you can to recover from circumstances and stay positive. Because that's what successful people do -- they choose to react positively to the negative people and events in their lives.

Are you really good at handling cr@p?
Bad stuff happens to good and even somewhat enlightened people. But when you get really good at handling cruddy stuff often enough, you become comfortable with it. You might think that you’re living better now that you’re able to tolerate bad stuff without flying off the handle, but is that really a good thing?

It’s Not About the Personal Device, It’s About the Personal Content
People are climbing all over each other to get a "new" smartphone. Folks can't get enough of using their iPad/tablet. Wife loves her Kindle ereader. We can't wait for the new Ultrabooks. Big screen TV sales are...flat. What's wrong with this picture? Some folks say the phones/tablets are killing the PC...wrong. Computers are changing. So are our many screens. In a few years - let's say 20 years - you won't be carrying around a computer or a tablet or a phone...no need. The computer will just be wherever you are. The screen? Same. Your content/stuff? Ditto. Privacy? Oh yeah, how's that workin for you??
