ARE YOU READY TO BE A BUSINESS OWNER?
As never before in the history of our country there are tens of thousands of mid to upper level corporate executives whose world has crashed around them. They have been “downsized” out of their company…in some cases after years of loyal service. These former corporate executives find it almost impossible to find a job commensurate with what they had. Those employment opportunities are just not available.

There’s a World Between eMail, Games
It's a little strange out there. There's a huge demand for minimalist portable computers. There's a giant demand for heavy honkers that serious gamers carry, open and use to test their eye/hand coordination and ability to concentrate. And the rest of us? We don't know a lot about GPUs (Graphic Processor Units) but we do know if you want a notebook with a really good one you usually look at Dell's Alienware or Acer's Ferarri or colorful HP notebook that looks like it would take a bullet for you. That's just great we're back looking at $2,500 + systems. Why can't we get a good all purpose system that won't melt our polyester pants with a battery that will continue to breathe for the length of our flight. All of the components are optomized in their own isolated environment.

Where's Buster?
A village without a "Buster" is a pretty boring town. A "Buster" can bring enrichment and hope. A "Buster" can bring a healing experience that erases emotional pain to replace it with confidence, strength and joy. Your customers need a "Buster." Be the "Buster" in your commercial village.

The New Old Timey Customer Service
Whatever happened to Lee Roy Clark? Mr. Clark was the grocer in my South Georgia hometown. He was my introduction to what it meant to be a "merchant"—courteous and eager to help all who came into his small all-purpose store. The business world is today rediscovering the value of service that permeated Lee Roy Clark's bones. The Lee Roy Clarks of yesteryear get no credit for using methods now attributed to Disney, USAA, Nordstorm, and Ritz-Carlton Hotels. What happened between the early 1950s version of small-town service and its present-day renaissance? How did the business world move so far away from Lee Roy Clark and why is his brand of customer service now so eagerly sought?

Why Most Sales Training Programs Do Not Produce Results
Most sales training programs do not produce lasting results simply because they are “canned”, just like TV laughter. They can be antiquated, ineffective, and not buyer focused. There is a definite need for most sales people, business owners and non-selling professionals to improve their ability to market and sell their products and services. I am referring to such non-selling professionals as consultants, lawyers, doctors, and dentist. There is a problem with a large percentage of sales training in the marketplace today. Just take a look at the end results subsequent to the sales training of yesteryear.

Why we should put the Trainer back into Sales Management
Up until 20 years ago, a key function of a sales manager’s role was the regular training of their sales people. What did this look like? Well, something like this: weekly 1 hour power training sessions for the sales team focusing on honing key skills, bi-monthly half day or 1 day sessions drilling down on account planning, strategy, market and product knowledge, and formal class room training usually employing external, expert training providers on a once or twice yearly basis to boost their teams to the next level. This was all supplemented by sales meetings and one-on-one coaching. Many sales managers of yesteryear were good trainers. However, through my observations across many businesses, the training component has been replaced by compliance.

BYOD is Bad for IT, Great for Bad Folks
We don't know anyone who sent his/her boss a note saying "I'm sorry, you know I Love You."s BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) can be a blessing in disguise because you can now download all those cool games to play in dull meetings on the iPad/iPhone-smartphone/notebook because hey it's yours. After all you do check your email/handle work while watching TV and on your holidays so you're entitled. There's no turning the clock back to yesteryear. You're plugged in 24x7, 365 days a year. It's the strong willed person who can actually turn the smartphone/tablet/notebook off and have a life. We're workin on that, so can you...
