Skyrocket Your Success - Work Harder On Yourself Than Anything Else
| |
| This week I received an article by a very successful entrepreneur Alexandria Brown.
Here's what she says:
Over the past several years I've immersed myself in learning. Because my business is marketing, I have mostly attended and spoken at marketing seminars. But I also make plenty of time to read books, attend seminars, and listen to audio programs on personal development as well.
Why?
You should actually work harder on yourself than you do on your business (or job). I first learned that from Jim Rohn, whom some call the father of personal development. Some call him America's foremost business philosopher. I just call him brilliant. (Jim was one of Tony Robbins' first mentors, too.)

What To Do When The Media Come Knocking
| |
| It's 5:30 on a Friday afternoon and you're preparing to close up shop for the weekend. Then the telephone rings. It's a local reporter asking for some of your time to conduct an interview. Yikes - what do you do? Panic? Start sweating profusely? Slam down the phone? Or do you take a deep breath and tackle that unexpected interview in a responsive, professional manner? |

Bungling Bonnie Raitt, or “How to Handle Challenges, Learning Curves, and Breakdowns in Your Business.”
| |
| Oh, it was ugly! I hadn’t been out singing karaoke in a few months, so when my gal pal Andrea asked me to go to sing recently, I decided to try a song I’d never sung before – the rather drippy but beautiful Bonnie Raitt ballad, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”
It’s a fabulous song when it’s done well, but for whatever reason, I wasn’t on my game. When I got up to sing, I immediately hit the wrong note, and stayed off key for the first few verses. Yikes! Karaoke - on stage, with all those folks watching. Having that mic in your hand, it’s sort of one of those sink or swim moments. Just like business sometimes.

Depressed or Depleted?
| |
| There are times when coaching borders the line of therapy - addictions, mention of suicide (yikes!), and sometimes depression. Patrick Williams raised an important distinction, "Is it REALLY depression, or is it DEPLETION?" Discerning this is the first step. How can one tell the difference? There are many free assessments online to quickly determine if speaking with a professional psychologist is the next step or if other strategies may prove effective. |

Invest In Real Estate - And Worry?
| |
| See the news today? Standing out in a sea of bad news, experts now estimate over one million American homes will be foreclosed this year. More than half a million have already been lost to foreclosure since 2010 began. In a "normal" year, the U.S. sees only a tenth as many foreclosures. Yikes! House foreclosures up ten times?
