Investing In Sons Business Could Cause A Real Family Feud
| |
| It sounds like your wife wants to make a gift of the money, expecting nothing in return but the undying love of her last born son. You, on the other hand, don't know if you should offer the money as a loan (should I loan him the money) or as an investment (worried that my investment will be lost). Until you can make that distinction, your money should remain in the bank. |

How to Create Simple Systems To Save You Time and Make You More Money
| |
| Time flies by very quickly. The oldest member of our family, (my husband) turned 53 last week and the youngest member, 'Casper' is nearly a year old!
This reminded me of the experience we had at the local vet when we first brought Casper home.
If the owner of that practice only realised that by making simple changes she could have increased her profits by at least 10% - 20% without working any harder.
This week's article will show how you can too!

Millennials – Can’t Work With ‘Em…Can’t Work Without ‘Em: So what’s a company to do?
| |
| Millennials: The youngest members of your workforce, given that moniker becaue they began entering the workforce at the turn of the millennium. As with their older counterparts, they have their own set of stereotypes that come along with them: "Slackers" - "Whiners" - "The 'get a reward for everything' generation." How do companies, and particularly we Boomer bosses, make the most of these young people's capacities while we help them learn how to navigate a work world that will not always be as warm and fuzzy as was mom and the soccer coach? |

Wired for work and wired for wisdom: Why you need both kinds of brains in your business
| |
| For the first time there are four generations in the workplace-and two of them are often maligned: the Boomers and Millennials, some of the oldest and the youngest in the workforce. While organizations and industries push out older "slower" workers and hesitate to hire "entitled, self-centered" twenty-somethings, we are wasting some of the best brains in business. |

Don\'t Wait to See the Blood
| |
| At my youngest daughter's sixth birthday party, a five-year-old boy hit her on the head. Asked to apologize, he politely refused: "Mr. Clemmer, I don't apologize unless I see teeth marks or blood."
Many managers don't realize the problems they're creating unless they see the teeth marks or blood on those with whom they work. The most insensitive managers are those who lack good feedback systems and refuse to seek input on how to improve their own performance. |

Real Hope For The Future
| |
| I couldn't be more proud of my offspring - all of them - but since it's her birthday today, I'll tell you about my youngest. As far as I know, she's not a celebrity (and also not wanted by law enforcement)... she's just a "normal" twenty-something. But if all normal twenty-something Americans were more like my daughter, we'd indeed have a bright future in store.... |
